Technology

Technology is a valuable tool and an integral part of learning at Dostyk American International School. Through our technology integration and 1:1 programs, students utilize technology on a daily basis to create, collaborate, communicate, and research. iPads are provided for each student in Kindergarten–Grade 5. Students in Grades 3–5 also have a school-provided MacBook Pro. As part of our Middle School Bring Your Own Devices (BYOD) program, students are required to bring their own MacBook to school. DAIS uses various Learning Management System (LMS) and communication tools. Elementary classes share work using Seesaw. Google Workspace accounts are provided for Grades 3–8. Through these devices and tools, technology is integrated into the classroom curriculum, specialist classes, and after-school activities.

STEAM Lab: A place where the DAIS community creates, invents, and learns

Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics are important subjects at DAIS. With a purpose-built STEAM lab, students explore emerging technologies like 3D printing, laser cutting, and robotics, while they also have access to diverse art supplies and resources. Art classes are held once a week per grade level, after-school activities are run throughout the year, and the lab is open to classes and students for daily use. Additionally, parent-student workshops are held throughout the school year where families can explore the many resources the STEAM lab has to offer. The STEAM program focuses on the design cycle to encourage creativity and problem-solving.
