At DAIS we believe that growing the whole child creates active, concerned citizens. Such growth involves serving our community. As we continually revisit and redefine our approach to learning, service to others consistently forms an integral part of our mission.   

Introducing students to service learning in Elementary School, they are exposed to concepts such as empathy, selfless service, and advocacy for others. During their initial service experiences, students are taught to identify areas of need, act upon those needs, and then, most importantly, reflect upon their experiences.

As students enter Middle School and begin to see themselves as change agents, opportunities for action within our community at large are presented. DAIS maintains a healthy relationship with the Friends of Atyrau organization, which facilitates service opportunities throughout the greater Atyrau region. Middle school students engage in the design thinking process in a weekly Friday Design, Innovate, Collaborate, and Engage (DICE) time where they support initiatives for the Dostyk community and the community in Atyrau.
